COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

The team at Digital Summit is dedicated to ensuring a great experience at our in-person events in 2020, and that includes providing a safe environment in regards to the recent pandemic situation. In some markets we’ve had to cancel events, but for those that are still (for now) being planned, please see all the measures that we will be following to ensure everyone’s safety regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Don’t forget that we have several At Home Digital Summits planned for July – December. We ask that if you are experiencing symptoms, are uncomfortable with being in a crowd right now, or have a pre-existing condition that is “high risk” for infection that you consider one of these virtual events instead.

For our live events, here is what you can expect:

  • If You Are Sick

If you have a temperature, are showing any potential symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been in close contact with anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the event then you need to stay home and request a refund. We will not be taking temperature checks at the events as we have found this to not be a reliable determination of one’s eligibility to attend. If you don’t feel well, please stay home.

  • Masks

The Digital Summit staff will be wearing masks. We ask that attendees wear a mask as well—especially when moving between sessions and speaking to others. Please review the guidelines issued by the venue hosting your event for important information regarding face coverings, as some locations REQUIRE the use of face coverings at all times.

  • Hand Cleaning

Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event. Touchless hand sanitizer stations will be available at most venues. By this point, everyone should know that hand washing is important in helping reduce the spread of COVID-19.

  • Local Venue

We are working with the venues that host our events on their cleaning procedures regarding the use of disinfectants, wiping down tables, chairs, door handles and procedures for restroom usage and other high-touch areas. We are confident that they are doing everything they can as recommended by professionals.

  • No Handshakes, Hugs, or Fist Bumps

We will be asking all attendees, staff and sponsors to adhere to a “no touch” policy and asking attendees to wash their hands often. Networking sessions will be eliminated from the agenda and instead we will offer an online alternative for attendees with directions communicated to attendees prior to their event.

  • Seating and Spacing

Seating will be spaced with the recommended 6 feet of distance between attendees. We are limiting passes sold to reduce the number of attendees and to ensure we can abide by the 6 foot distance recommendations. Masterclasses will be conducted virtually with a highly rated webinar platform, and will not be live on site at the venue. The areas around sponsor booths will also have 6’ space markers for attendees to follow so they know an acceptable amount of space to leave in between each other and sponsors will be spaced further apart from each other.Due to spacing constraints, a few events will not be having a keynote speaker. We are also eliminating VIP lounges. See the Agenda page to confirm details for this event.

  • Food and Beverage

We will be working with the venue to revise how food and beverage services will be provided to minimize exposure/risk (i.e. pre-packaged food, pre-packaged silverware, no self-serve stations).
